Gala and The Larry Martin Memorial Community Garden

We held our first ever Gala on April 10, 2021 at Samuel Cedars Event Venue. We raised just a little over $21,000.00! All proceeds from the evening will fund our Larry Martin Memorial Community Garden that will be established right behind the Rogersville’s thrift store and food pantry. Thank you to all the businesses and individuals that helped make this event so successful.

Progress has already starting taking shape, as 2 of the 4 plots have been plowed and compost delivered to start the planting process. I am not one to complain about the rain but it has been a hindrance to the progress of the development. So as we get through this “Blackberry Winter” we are hopeful to start getting things planted.

If you are interested in volunteering or being on the development committee please contact Mindy at shn117rog@gmail.com or 417-753-7117. We are excited to see this all come together and your help would be greatly accepted.

Safe Haven Now has strived to be apart of our communities and adding this garden gives us a different opportunity for our community to come together and do something great. Such as learning to plant, transplant, compost, harvest, and preserve that harvest. There is a lot more that comes with that as well, serving in your community, building relationships, learning different skills and techniques from one another. Not to mention the opportunity to be outside and just get your hands dirty.
